10 amazing years

Today is our 10 year wedding anniversary!!!
God has given me such a wonderful husband. During the last 10 years, we have both grown so much. Spiritually, physically (unfortunately). Our love has grown, and our family has grown. It's so amazing what God has done for our family and for our marriage in the last 10 years. He is so amazing and gives us everything we could ever need.
James, Thank you so much for being such a wonderful husband. Thank you for holding my hair back as I threw up many times every day for months. Thank you for being such an amazing father to Loegan and Malia. Thank you for showing us your trust in God and your love for His word.
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!! I hope you have a wonderful day and can celebrate your amazing 33 years. Thank you for raising us 4 kids in such an amazing way. You showed us so much love and care. We have so many wonderful memories to share.
Yes, we got married on my parent's anniversary. We even invited them on our honeymoon with us. We spent the first few days with them in Colorado, then they came home and we had some time with just the two of us. James and my Dad enjoyed mountain biking and we had a great time with them when they were there with us. It's pretty special to be able to share such a blessed day with my parents!!

Goodbye crazy hair. Hello super short summer hair cut.

Loegan has been asking us for a week or so to have his hair cut like his Dad's, so finally we buzzed it all off. He wanted to try it, so here are some pics of him doing the last few sweeps of the buzzer. He looks great either way and now he's ready for the 100+ degree weather that's coming very soon, whether we're ready for it or not. I know I'm not ready. I'm gonna be calling Kristi very soon asking for my super short summer hair cut. Every little bit counts when you live here in the desert, right?

Wow! ~cough~ What a week! ~sneeze~

Oh, how we take our health and our voices for granted. Last week, I got really sick with this ridiculous cold, cough, sinus infection thing that's going around. I guess I got the tail end of it. It seems like everyone else got it months ago.
Thanks to my immune system that's not so great, I guess it's been brewing and waiting for the right time to really hit. On Sunday and Monday I had no voice. I've always wanted to lose my voice (I know that's weird). When I was in high school being a cheerleader, the other cheerleaders would lose their voices and I always would try my hardest to lose mine too; it never worked - I guess I have strong vocal cords from talking so much. :) Anyway, when I finally lost my voice on Sunday, I didn't like it so much. Even whispering hurt and I couldn't really communicate with anyone. It wasn't as much fun as I had always thought it would be. I love to talk.
Well, I 'm finally getting a little bit better everyday. I feel really bad that I was around friends and family over the weekend. I tried really hard to contain my germs by using lots of sanitizer on my hands and I really hope I didn't share my germs with anyone. At the time, I didn't realize, that what seemed like a normal, harmless cold would turn into such a monster. The monster is being tamed thanks to God's mercy while he is healing me.
Loegan and Malia got a free vacation day on Monday since their teacher was having a communication problem and a problem getting out of bed and getting away from the humidifier. I'm sure they were happy about having an extra long weekend. They (Malia especially) was happy to get back to doing school on Tuesday.

When I grow up, I want to make bags...

Over the past few weeks, I found a few minutes here and there to make myself a new purse and then I made Malia a matching purse. Her purse happened to be just the right size for her bible. She's so excited to have a purse to carry her bible for church. The lining on both purses is the pretty, silky pink material. They are so cute! I just had to share with you.

Recess is for the birds- "Quack, Quack"

We took a break from school this morning and went to the park to get rid of our dried out bread. They loved it!! One family's trash is a duck family's treasure. They loved the bread and Loegan and Malia loved serving it to them. The pigeons even tried to get some crumbs. It was a really nice morning this morning and a perfect time to feed the ducks and take a "recess" from school.
